I would like to thank my original teacher Jana Draka, her teacher ZenKei Blanche Hartman, my current teacher Doug Jacobson, and all the ancestors in my lineage. The Bodhisattva vows are not to be taken lightly, but neither should they be clutched. As always, they should be understood as a finger pointing at the untouchable moon. They are impossible and one should not expect to be able to save all beings, dispel all delusions, or walk all learning paths. The closest we can come to filling the vow is to make it our own. The one I chant is modified from various sources, and I chant it if the meeting host does not provide one for me. The Bodhisattva Vow Beings are numberless; I vow to see them. Delusions are inexhaustible; I vow to dispel them. Dharma gates are boundless; I vow to open them. Buddha’s way is unsurpassable; I vow to become one. Looking around there are infinite versions of the bodhisattva vows- but they mostly have the same structure addressing the wishes to help infinite beings, solve wrong ideas, and open learning pathways. I suggest you make the vows your own and share them, you will get the joy of different paths from some of the infinite beings whose delusions have a grain of truth. Be prepared to learn as you spread your version, Everyone thinks their version is correct, and it is: for them. This talk is the original written words and the generated A.I. voice of one that has been called a Bodhisattva and has taken the Bodhisattva vows. I hope that I have seen you as a being. I hope that I have helped dissolve delusion with these deluded words. I hope that I have opened new learning gates for you. To me, the Buddha's way is unsurpassable, I hope you become what YOU seek.
